About this Course These classes will be studying and analyzing the third chapter of tractate Bava Metzia, which presents the Jewish approach in many matters of civil law, particularly vis-à-vis the different degrees of liability assumed by guardians, renters and borrowers. This class is designed for people of varying skill-sets, even for those with little or no background in the Talmudic dialectic. It will allow students to learn at their own level whilst providing a thorough understanding of the text material. Knowledge of Hebrew is certainly not a requisite. In its exploration of the section, the course will introduce and explain Talmudic terminology and style, focusing primarily on conveying the content of the material as we study the original text word for word. |
