Dear Parents,
We have enjoyed these wonderful beginning weeks with the children. They have acclimated beautifully to the environment and have created many unique projects.
Around the classroom the students can be seen sounding out their letters, playing memory and sequencing games and enjoying art and practical life.
The students loved the “Action Jackson” theme. We hope you got a chance to view their masterpieces.
Right now things are getting busy as we prepare for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year. The Rabbi has been coming to class to blow the Shofar and the children are already familiar with the 3 different sounds.
In the art center the kids have been making shofars, painting apples, and creating many other Rosh Hashanah crafts.
We are already on the 4th Hebrew letter, Daled – ד, “Dvash”-honey and “Dvorah”-bee begin with Daled. The kids have enjoyed making their sensorial letter page to add to their Aleph Bett book that will be coming home at the end of the year.
On Wednesday Miss Joanie the music teacher came. What fun!!! The children saw pictures of vocal cords, learned about the guitar and got to strum a few cords and sand songs, Miss Joanie will be joining the Chai Tots staff this year teaching music.
Please do not forget that Monday, September 22, is picture day. Even if your child does not attend school on Monday please make every effort to come at 10:30 for class and individual photos.
Monday evening at 8:00pm is our Open House and Montessori Evening. Please make every effort to attend. You will get a chance to have all your school questions answered and we will go through the classroom showing you what your child does in school.
Wednesday, September 24th is our trip to A&M Farms. Thank you to all who offered to drive. Due to the distance we will only be returning at 12:30pm. If this is a conflict or if you have any questions please call Rochel at 234-0600.
Shabbat Shalom!
