Dear Parents,
This week we continued with our fall theme. We discussed how animals get ready for the winter. Squirrels put acorns and nuts in their cheeks and hide them by the trees where they live. We pretended to be squirrels and wiggled our “tails” and searched for acorns. A fun song that we have been singing is:
Squirrel, squirrel shake your bushy tail,
Squirrel squirrel shake your bushy tail.
Wrinkle up your little nose,
put a nut between your toes,
Squirrel squirrel shake your bushy tail.”
And our finger play:
Five little squirrels sitting in a tree
This little squirrel said, “these nuts are for me!”
This little squirrel said, “I like to eat.”
This little squirrel said, “nuts are a treat.”
This little squirrel said, “do you want some?”
This little squirrel said, “you may have one!”
We enjoyed reading and looking at the pictures of the book “Squirrels” by: Brian Wildsmith.
Bears, bunnies and some other animals hibernate. That means they sleep the whole winter. When the weather begins to get cold outside these animals go into their homes and sleep until the warm weather comes back.
The children are enjoying crunching the fall leaves in our sensory table.
Reminder:Chai Tots will be closed for Thanksgiving - Thursday, November 27th and Friday, November 28th.
