DISCOVERY CENTER URGES PARENTS TO ‘GET OUT’
The Jewish Discovery Center, the center for the entire Jewish community in the Northern corridor, is encouraging parents of young children to get out and spend time alone. Recognizing the need for quality and convenient babysitting for children, the center’s POPS (Parents of Preschoolers) Club is sponsoring “Parents Night Out,” on Saturday, November 11, providing an opportunity for parents to place their children in a safe and secure environment.
“Parents need time alone to reconnect and enhance their relationship,” said Laura Rossey, president of POPS and parent of two young children. “This [program] will enable parents in the Mason / Deerfield / West Chester area to leave their children in a warm and loving atmosphere, without worries or hassle.”
All parents are invited to drop off their children at the newly constructed Jewish Discovery Center, home of the state licensed Chai Tots Early Childhood Center, on November 11, anytime between 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm, while they spend quality time together. The trained and licensed staff of Chai Tots will supervise the children and engage them with quality Jewish programming, activities, games and story-telling, in a fun-filled, hands-on, nurturing environment. Cost for the program is $5 per child for the evening.
The Chai Tots Early Childhood Center also offers members of the Jewish community a “drop off program” every week day. Parents can drop in any time 8:00 am – 5:30 pm, and leave their child(ren) ages 18 months – 6 years old for as long as necessary.
“We want to provide convenient programming to support parents in the community,” said Rochel Kalmanson, Director of Chai Tots Early Childhood Center. “If a parent needs respite care or simply wants to run errands, we will welcome their child into our kid-friendly environment and include each child in our existing child-centered program.”
As the anchor program of the Jewish Discovery Center, the Chai Tots Early Childhood Center has become known in the Mason-area community as an encompassing program, offering a unique blend of Montessori and traditional Jewish education, teaching children the culture and traditions of Judaism, while developing their creativity skills and promoting independence. Chai Tots incorporates many expanded enrichment activities such as music and movement, tumbling, yoga, intergenerational programming, Challah-baking and Shabbat parties.
